国外TopTenReview网站评选的2008年全球杀毒软件排名，排在前十位的并没有什么变化，依次是BitDefender，卡巴斯基，Nod32，接下来是F-Secure Antivirus，PC-Cillin，卖咔啡排在第六，诺顿列第七，Windows OneCare Live照样位列最后，甚至应该算是没有排名，因为排名用N/A表示。可以看出，微软自身的安全软件在业界看来很不专业。
至于国内的杀毒软件如江民、瑞星、金山等，虽然他们的产品也拥有多项专利技术，但核心产品－－杀毒引擎基本都是引进的国外先进杀毒软件公司，且没有全球化，或者全球化程度不够，未受国际市场重视，因此，在各大排名中几乎看不到他们。
